Privacy policy
This policy explains what happens to information when you use Will My Pension Last? ("we", "us"). It is written in plain English. If anything is unclear, contact us using the details at the end.
The short version
- The figures you enter never leave your device. The calculator runs entirely in your web browser. We have no server that receives your ages, pension pots, income or anything else you type.
- We don't ask for your name, email or any account.
- Saving a plan is optional. It downloads a file to your own device; nothing is kept in your browser.
- The site is funded by adverts from Google. Google may use cookies, but only after you've made a choice in the consent message. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
Who we are
Will My Pension Last? is run by Waytrk Ltd. For UK data protection law we are the "controller" for the limited information described below.
Contact: hello@willmypensionlast.com
Information you enter in the calculator
Everything you type into the calculator, such as your age, pension savings, contributions, income, property or one-off amounts, is used only inside your browser to work out the projection. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it, and we do not keep it.
Saving a plan
Download a copy saves your answers as a file (willmypensionlast-plan.json) to your own device. Open a saved file reads a file you choose. In both cases the file goes between your device and your browser only. We cannot see it.
We don't keep your answers in your browser's storage, so nothing is left behind when you close the page.
Adverts
We show adverts from Google AdSense to keep the site free. Adverts appear in clearly labelled boxes and never inside the calculator's results.
Because we are in the UK, Google requires a consent message for visitors in the UK, European Economic Area and Switzerland. We use Google's own consent tool for this. When you first visit, it asks whether Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technology on your device. Your choice decides what kind of adverts you see:
- If you agree, adverts may be personalised using information Google holds about your browsing.
- If you refuse personalisation, Google shows non-personalised adverts. These are based on general information such as the page you are reading and your rough location (for example, your town or region), not your browsing history.
- If you refuse cookies altogether, Google shows limited adverts that do not use cookies for advertising.
Google receives information such as your IP address, browser type and the page you are viewing so that it can deliver adverts. Google uses this under its own privacy policy. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage your Google ad settings at My Ad Center.
Nothing you type into the calculator is shared with Google or any advertiser.
We do not use affiliate links to financial providers, and we are not paid by any pension provider for what this site says.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We do not run our own logs of visits. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Analytics
We do not use analytics or tracking tools. If this changes, we will only collect page-level totals (never anything you type), ask for your consent first, and update this policy.
Our legal reasons
- Consent for advertising cookies and similar technology. You can withdraw it at any time with the "Cookie settings" link.
- Legitimate interests for keeping the site secure and working, which is what our host does with technical information.
How long information is kept
- Your answers: only while the page is open, unless you download a copy, which you keep and delete yourself.
- Your consent choice: stored by Google's consent tool on your device so you are not asked on every visit. See our cookie policy.
- Information Google and Cloudflare hold: under their own policies, linked above.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct and delete personal information, to object to its use, and to withdraw consent. As we do not hold the figures you enter, most requests about them can be handled by you directly in your browser. For anything else, contact us using the details below.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if anything changes and show the date at the top.
