For journalists
Writing about pensions, retirement or privacy-friendly tools? Here's what you need. Everything on this page, including the pictures, is free to use in coverage of the site, with a credit to Will My Pension Last?.
In one paragraph
Will My Pension Last? is a free UK retirement calculator for people who want to find out whether their money will last, not be sold to. It projects a household's pensions, savings and State Pension into later life, with real UK income tax (including Scotland's bands), inflation, couples and a range of market outcomes. There's no sign-up, and nothing a visitor types leaves their device: the calculator runs entirely in the browser. It's free, paid for by a few clearly labelled adverts, and it's general information rather than financial advice.
Key facts
- Launched: November 2026, by Waytrk Ltd, a UK company.
- Built by: one person, who wanted a straight answer to "will my pension last?" without handing over an email address. The story is in Why I built this.
- Privacy: no accounts, no email addresses, no analytics, and no server that receives anything a visitor types.
- Business model: labelled adverts only. No affiliate links, paid partnerships or commissions.
- Assumptions: growth rates follow the FRC's AS TM1 standard, the one behind UK pension statements. Tax rules and figures come from GOV.UK and are updated every April. The calculator runs 1,000 possible futures for markets and inflation.
- Not advice: it shows scenarios and trade-offs and never tells anyone what to do. It signposts MoneyHelper and Pension Wise.
- How it works: the full methodology, including what it doesn't model.
Figures you can quote
The How long will my pot last? pages give real figures from the calculator for pots from £100,000 to £1 million, for a single person stopping work at 60. For example, £250,000 could give around £1,650 a month after tax, including the State Pension from 67, lasting to 91 in 80% of the futures the calculator ran. The pension numbers page lists this tax year's main allowances and limits in plain English.
